One of these is my son, the other my husband.

One of these is my son, the other my husband.  Meiotic recombination is amazing.

Meiosis is the specialized cell division that gametes (egg or sperm) undergo to leave them with half the number of chromosomes of a normal cell (Thus when they combine, they have the full number of chromosomes). Recombination happens during this process to kind of mix up the genes between the chromosomes.
